The high elevation 1,182 meters Los Chacayes, Tunuyan #ucovalley , #mendoza is evident as is with all of the Topografia wines, the elegance, fresh acidity and airy quality like ballet dancer doing the pate de deus. #torrontés is a sneaky devil because she smells sweet in her heady aromatic ways of floral and fruit but at first sip, she is bone dry and says hello good morning, lets enjoy shall we. 𝕋𝕠𝕡𝕠𝕘𝕣𝕒𝕗𝕚𝕒 𝕋𝕠𝕣𝕣𝕠𝕟𝕥é𝕤 𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟘 Perfumed aromas of floral, fruit and spice and freshly elegant, delicate and present without being too much. Lychee, lemon, lime blossom, peach, nectarine, rose petal, geranium, citrus pith and wet stones ending on a doughy ginger note. The acid really lingers and keeps the palate fresh and focused with a slight savory quality. Paired with Thai basil chicken. 💥 bam #winefoodpairing goodness

Kit’s Coty Chardonnay 2018 Produced by Chapel Down winery, a renowned traditional method English Sparkling producer in Kent, England. This wine was aged in old French oak barrels for nine months, which contributes to the vanilla and spice notes. Pours into the glass a very translucent lemon with a subtle green tint. Opens with a burst of white stone fruits – think ripe peaches, juicy nectarines, and hints of zesty lemon. A floral layer unfolds next, offering fragrant honeysuckle and subtle elderflower notes. Hints of vanilla, toasted hazelnut, and a touch of minerality add complexity, hinting at the oak aging without overwhelming the fruit. The entry is incredibly bright and refreshing, with its telltale English uber high acidity. Flavors of orchard fruits like crisp apple and pear mingle with the stone fruit from the nose, complemented by hints of citrus peel for added zest. Carlos and Juan Rodríguez (brothers) and Galician DJ-turned-winemaker Fredi Torres teamed up in 2013 to make small production of lively, fun and elegant wines in Ribera Sacra, Spain. A co-fermentation blend of 50% #palomino 40% #mencia 10% #merenzao grown on granite and schist soils from a mix of vineyards inDoade. 𝒮𝒾𝓁𝒾𝒸𝑒 𝑅𝑜𝓈𝒶𝒹𝑜 𝟤𝟢𝟤𝟣 While avoiding the raindrops, I let my senses guide me on this #rosado …… Pours into the glass a brilliant copper pink color. Swirl and imagine a #fino & #manzanilla #sherry mixed with a Provençe style #rosé and you get this unique styled #rosado – ocean sea spray intermingled with freshly picked peaches, pink grapefruit, strawberries, chamomile and bread dough. This is a dry crisp lip smacking rosé to beat the heat any day. Tangy pomegranate, watermelon and underripe strawberries, peach, orange zest, vanilla cream, almonds and razor like minerality driving the saline home to the finish line. Just a delight. I paired this with spiced grilled octopus, steamed clams with citrus vinaigrette and turkey brochettes.

𝕀 𝕒𝕞 𝕚𝕟 𝕒 ℂℍ𝔼ℕ𝕀ℕ 𝕤𝕥𝕒𝕥𝕖 𝕠𝕗 𝕞𝕚𝕟𝕕 … 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕨𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕜𝕟𝕠𝕨, 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕜𝕟𝕠𝕨…. A wine from Savenièrres is a sorceress that captures you under her spell immediately with her heady rich aromas and continues to evolve and escalate in the glass to the very last sip 𝔻𝕒𝕞𝕚𝕖𝕟 𝕃𝕒𝕦𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕦 𝕃𝕖 𝔹𝕖𝕝 𝕆𝕦𝕧𝕣𝕒𝕘𝕖 𝟚𝟘𝟙𝟞 Two things grabbed my attention when I saw this wine – 1) Very limited production and 2) Jon David who represents the highest of quality specializing in the Val de Loire. Damien Laureau is a new generation of organic, all natural free spirited winemakers. He uses A blend of 3 terroirs in Savennière , planted in schist and purple sandstone (known as rhyolite), imparts a powerful mineral quality. Side note these terroirs are adjacent to the famous Coulée de Serrant, hint you are in for a treat. 12 months in 400L French oak barrels, 5-10% new, then 11 months in tank before bottling unfined & unfiltered. Liquid golden goddess in the glass. The intense aromatics reach your senses as you pour. A vibrant purity in your presence of lemon curd, jasmine and lime blossom, honey, beeswax, mushrooms, straw, dried apricot, quince paste, dried apple, cream and lemon pith. Very creamy mouth coating texture is backed by equally mouthwatering acidity and elegant richness. The flinty mineral terroir is interwoven with salted hazelnuts, brioche, vanilla cream, honeyed apricot, floral and pineapple marmalade, just a wow wine that evolves and lingers for an eternity…..It packs an elegant punch on so many levels. What a thrilling discovery. I admit this is one of those I could NOT put my glass down. I was so enthralled because it’s so damn good. However if I had to pair it with I’d pair it with roasted lobster tails, crab cakes with citrus aioli or a classic freshly shucked oysters.

A #brut style #sparkling at 8g/L is so well integrated with the lively acidity bringing so much freshness and flavors to your enjoyment. Cigliuti Langhe Nebbiolo 2019

Small yields and just delightful. I have said this before and I will say it again, Langhe Nebbiolo is an approachable version of a Barolo, it pleases everyone, period. It’s like the funny uncle at the party that everyone adores. Cigliuti Langhe Nebbiolo 2019 A small family winery established in 1964, previous generations grew grapes for bulk wine for local clientele. Currently Renato, his wife Dina and their 2 daughters Claudia and Silvia mange the estate from the vineyard to the end of production. This wine comes from 20 year old vines planted south-west facing Bricco di Neive Cru at 350m altitude in calcareous-sandy soil. Fermented for 20 days with ambient yeasts in stainless steel, followed by 5 months again in large Slovanian oak casks. A shining ruby jewel in the glass. A rockstar of crunchy red fruit – sour cherry, strawberry, raspberry leaf, touch of violet, vanilla and tobacco. The aromas dominate on the palate from fruit to vegetal, vibrant acid and well integrated soft tannins with added leather, earth, dried fig and anise.rose petals. A vibrant star to discover. It goes without saying this pairing beautifully with homemade pizza Bianca with smoked ham.
