𝔹𝕖𝕘𝕚𝕟 𝕚𝕥 𝕟𝕠𝕨.” – 𝔾𝕠𝕖𝕥𝕙𝕖 The idea began with when Harvard Professor, Denise Dupré, and Mark Nunelly, former Managing Director a Boston Capital investment fund acquired Champagne Leclerc Briant in 2012. The snowball grew bigger and moved south to Bourgogne, a vision to restore Château de la Commaraine it to its former glory. In 2017 was a year of rejuvenation by acquiring both the Château de la Commaraine and its Clos Monopole in Pommard and Domaine Belleville in Rully. Lastly they created Les Parcellaires de Saulx in Meursault. Their maison was established on a century old wine house and its cellars with unobstructed and breathtaking views of Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, which we toured and soaked up the beautiful views. They use organic or biodynamic practices and work with producers who also follow these practices when cultivate their vines. Each wine is vinified separately, respect for each climats, terroir and the work of the producer. We toured the extensive and historic cellars and tasted a refreshing lineup of: 𝔻𝕠𝕞𝕒𝕚𝕟𝕖 𝔹𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕧𝕚𝕝𝕝𝕖 – Rully Premier Cru La Pucelle 2020 and Mercurey Les Perrières 2020 𝕃𝕖𝕤 ℙ𝕒𝕣𝕔𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕒𝕚𝕣𝕖𝕤 𝕕𝕖 𝕊𝕒𝕦𝕝𝕩- Pernard-Vergelesses Sous Le Bois De Noël et Les Belles Filles 2020 et Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles 2020 Merci à Jean-Luc et Hugues pur cette belle visit.
Christophe Mignon ADN De Meunier
A champion of the #Meunier grape and multi generation farming family Christophe Mignon has helped elevate its reputation to a leading grape variety in #Champagne . Located between the villages of Le Breuil and Festigny in the Vallée de la Marne, where Meunier shines in the deep clay and chalky soils allowing for intense expression of the fruit and minerality. His 6.3 hectares spread over 30 parcels are are farmed independently & naturally through biodynamics, phytotherapy, homeopathy and geobiology, knowns as the Mignon Method. He follows the lunar calendar for each parcel with optimal picking ripeness benefiting his style of zero dosage champagnes for optimal balance. He’s constantly researching, evolving and changing in order to align and respect with natures rhythm. ᴄʜʀɪꜱᴛᴏᴘʜᴇ ᴍɪɢɴᴏɴ, ᴄʜᴀᴍᴘᴀɢɴᴇ ʙʟᴀɴᴄ ᴅᴇ ɴᴏɪʀꜱ ʙʀᴜᴛ ɴᴀᴛᴜʀᴇ ᴀᴅɴ ᴅᴇ ᴍᴇᴜɴɪᴇʀ A multi-vintage champagne from 2017 and 2018 harvests. Parcels are vinified separately in stainless steel. Disgorged May 19, 2022 with an average of 48 months sur lie, zero dosage brut nature style always with Mignon champagnes. This zero dosage Meunier is a stunner. A shiny light gold color with smooth fine bubbles. Beautiful expressive nose started out so fresh and fruity lemon zest, quince, underripe strawberries, white peach into salted almonds, cheese bread, brioche and hints of toast. Mouth pucker bone dry champagne, electric acidity that carries the flavors of lime zest, grapefruit pith, pineapple, apple skin, quince compote, toasted almonds, brioche and caramel into a finish is that is steely and endless. A total knockout champagne. His wines have pep, a champagne with a serious but playful side. Such delight for everyday, a special occasion, just because you felt like popping a stunning champagne.

My first year at #printempsdeschampagnes was off to a great start. Old friends and new faces at the tasting and soirée OFF @champagneterroirsetc an association of 10 independent #growerchampagne whose dedication to the #terroir and support of each other as well as their fellowship is one I greatly admire. Soirée OFF was held at Le Coque Rouge in Reims With an array #magnums dating back to 2000 @champ_gaidoz were disgorged throughout the night. Château de Tracy
ɪ’ᴠᴇ ɢᴏᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴋᴇʏꜱ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴋɪɴɢᴅᴏᴍ, ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ ɪꜱ ᴏᴘᴇɴ ᴡɪᴅᴇ – ᴘʀɪɴᴄᴇꜱꜱ ᴀᴜʀᴏʀᴀ Château des Tracy has been managed by the same family since the 14th century when the Scottish Stuart family and their large army, came to support the future King Charles VII of France during the Hundred Years War. Years later their name was gallicized to become d’Estutt or Destutt. The marriage of François Stutt and Lady of Tracy in 1586 merged the two branches of the families. Visit the facilities and you’ll see the fresco of their family and it’s backbone of their domaine heritage. Side note- hidden amongst the forest a stones throw from the winery is the Château, a private residence of a family member. It reminded me of the castle in Sleeping Beauty. ᴄʜÂᴛᴇᴀᴜ ᴅᴇ ᴛʀᴀᴄʏ The estate is made up of 33 hectares of the signature flint soils of Pouilly-Fumé and nearby vines comprised of Kimmeridgian limestone. Certified at the highest standard of HVE their environmental responsibilities are of the utmost importance and highly focused on expression of Sauvignon Blanc. The chateau is a private residence of one of the family members- from a distance it reminded me of a castle from Sleeping Beauty 😊 We tasted 4 Sauvignon Blanc, each completely different, so pure and bright as you would expect. Mademoiselle de T 2021 – bright with of citrus, flint and saline Chateau de Tracy – structured citrus and tropical fruit with spicy undertones Haute Densité HD (bottle 6 181 of 6 800) – rich and complex with stone and tropical fruit balanced with a touch of oak 101 Rangs (bottle 2 761 of 8 500) – layered complexity of tropical, oak influence, bright city’s and so many layers Quite honestly I loved all of the wines because again, they were so individualistic, so fresh and full of personality. Beautifully made in a variety of styles appealing all walks of Sauvignon Blanc lovers.
