13th Street Winery Gamay 2021
This cool climate darling is very at home and one of the shining reds of the Niagara Peninsula region in Ontario, Canada is Gamay.
13th Street Winery produces one of the best examples. A boutique winery located in the Niagara Peninsula specializing in small lot wines. This is an example of their intro to Gamay for those looking for a great QPR under $20. Their single vineyard Gamay are incredible as an FYI.
Shining vivid ruby in the glass with bright and juicy red fruit, wet earth, black pepper and forest floor. The soft tannins and juicy acidity carry the savory sour cherry, raspberry , strawberry, violet, earthy mushroom and black pepper. The finish is delectable and delicious. A fruity yet savory styled Gamay that I quite like lightly chilled, especially in 40C/104F temps. It just seems to lift its spirits and brighten the silky palate of liquid sunset.
Enjoy with a salami focaccia, mushroom tartine, duck prosciutto or just because it’s so thirst quenching.
